For a pot-luck dinner or a picnic, this homemade baked bean recipe is sure to impress with Musselman’s Unsweetened Apple Sauce.
Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray a 9-inch square baking pan or bean pot with cooking spray.
Arrange sliced onions on bottom of the pan, and then add beans.
In a medium bowl combine bacon, apple sauce, bean liquid, vinegar, molasses, tomato paste, mustard, cloves, salt, and pepper, and then stir into the beans beans.
Cook, covered, for 2 1/2 hours. Remove lid and cook uncovered for 30 minutes or until browned on top.
