Chicken Bake

The Musselman’s Unsweetened Apple Sauce and spices create a great sauce to keep the chicken moist and flavorful.

  • 2 cups MUSSELMAN’S® Unsweetened Apple Sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • 1 Tablespoon ketchup
  • ½ cup celery, diced
  • ¼ cup onions, diced
  • 4 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 ½ cups evaporated milk
  • ½ cup bread crumbs, or cracker crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt


  1. Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Step 2
    In a medium bowl blend the apple sauce with allspice, salt, flour, and ketchup. Stir in celery and onions.

  3. Step 3
    Pour mixture into a baking dish. Don't use a dish too large. The chicken should fit comfortably and touch the pan sides.

  4. Step 4
    Dip chicken in evaporated milk, roll in crumbs seasoned with paprika and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

  5. Step 5
    Arrange chicken over apple sauce mixture. Bake for 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
