Ingredients

  • 1 gallon MUSSELMAN’S® Apple Cider
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 Tablespoon whole allspice
  • 1 orange

Directions

  1. Step 1
Pour the gallon of apple cider into a large pot on the stove or into a slow cooker. Add the cinnamon sticks.

  2. Step 2
Wrap the whole cloves and whole allspice in a square of cheesecloth and tie closed. Add to the cider.

  3. Step 3
Slice the orange into full circular slices. Add half into the cider and save the remaining for garnish.

  4. Step 4
Heat the cider until it just starts to boil, then lower the setting to simmer for another 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  5. Step 5
Remove the spices and oranges from the pot and ladle hot mulled cider into mugs.

If you don't have cheesecloth on hand, use a tea ball or a tied coffee filter to hold the spices. Add a splash of rum, brandy or cinnamon schnapps when serving to make a festive beverage. If you are leaving the slow cooker out for your party guests, stud an apple with cloves and float it in the cider.
