Pork, Sauerkraut and Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • ½ cup butter, divided
  • 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut in strips
  • 1 cup MUSSELMAN’S® Premium Apple Juice
  • 14 ounces sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seed
  • 1 sliced apple

Directions

  1. Step 1
    In large saucepan, saute onion and green pepper in 1/4 cup butter until tender. Set aside in a bowl.

  2. Step 2
    In the pan saute the pork until browned on all sides.

  3. Step 3
    Stir in onions, peppers, sauerkraut, apple juice, salt, pepper, and caraway seed. Simmer, covered, 1 hour.

  4. Step 4
    Add apples and simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes or until meat is tender.

  5. Step 5
    Toss cooked noodles with the remaining butter; add salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Step 6
    Serve pork mixture over noodles.
