Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 eggs

Sauce

  • 1 cup MUSSELMAN’S® Apple Butter
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • fresh chives, chopped (optional garnish)
  • toasted sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Directions

  1. Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  2. Step 2
    Mix meatball ingredients with hands until just combined; beef, pork, bread crumbs, minced onion, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley flakes, sour cream, and eggs.

  3. Step 3
    Roll meat mixture into 2-inch meatballs (about 30 golf ball sized). Transfer to the baking sheet.

  4. Step 4
    Bake for 30-35 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through to 160°F internal temperature.

Sauce

  1. Step 1
    Combine all sauce ingredients in 3 qt pot over medium heat; apple butter, soy sauce, water, sugar, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, onion powder, and grated ginger.

  2. Step 2
    Heat for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally. Once sauce begins to simmer, remove from heat.

  3. Step 3
    Serve meatballs with sauce and optional fresh chives and sesame seeds.
